Duke University Research Scientist Headshots

Duke University research scientist Liz needed updated professional portraits for Linkedin profile images and future conference invites. I often get last minute requests for a hurried headshot when an event comes up but it’s always easier to plan in advance and have a gallery of images ready when you may need them.

As a postdoctoral research fellow at Duke University in Durham, NC it was important for Liz to have the beautiful grounds outside of her office as the backdrop. She needed a variety of images from headshots to 3/4 and full body portraits so she opted for a branding session, and we utilized several areas outdoors for the images.

Duke is known for it’s absolutely gorgeous campus so we opted to shoot entirely outdoors to be respectful of the Covid 19 guidelines in they had in place at the time. We have future plan to shoot indoor lab photos to complete her collection with a completely different look.

It was a hot summer day and we were dabbing sweat along the way but I had a wonderful time getting to know Liz and capturing a variety of looks for her professional portfolio. A makeup artist can be available for on location shoots to help with wind/sweat touch ups as we shoot and is highly recommended. It is also a great idea to have a friend come along to carry your outfits changes, bottle of water and overall moral support. You are making an investment in time and money with these photoshoots so make sure you love how you look!
