Sometimes a team of professional just kills it at their session – this was one of those times. I mean take a look at this photo, need I say more?

The color palette, the expressions, the confidence was just perfection, and it matched so well to the cool, warehouse vibe of the Dillon Raleigh. These guys looked good enough to be in a magazine but as luck would have it, they were! These photos were taken for an article featuring the Steve Gunter Group in Triangle Real Producers Magazine. We got a variety of team shots but also took the time to grab some headshots; you can’t pass up that opportunity when everyone is looking this good…

I absolutely love the hot pink accents. Real estate agents are not limited to stuffy headshots; step outside the box and choose a look that best expresses your personality and the client you want to reach.

Do your team photos really convey who you are, what you stand for you and how you work? If not let us help best express you!

There are several types of headshots and professional portraits available to today’s corporate clients. They break down into two main categories, editorial portraits or professional headshots. North State Bank wanted to take their standard studio employee headshots (which can be seen on their website) a step further to introduce clients to their market presidents and team leaders. Editorial headshots take place on location, often at a place of business or a location with special meaning to the person being featured. A chef in a kitchen for example, or a personal trainer in a gym. For these photos North State opted for outdoor locations around the Raleigh area – including NC State University, North Hills, Saint Augustine University, North Carolina Museum of Art and North Ridge Country Club.

Each person then wrote a short quote for these ads that run in the Triangle Business journal and other publications. The end result was a professional yet warm way to reach potential clients while still maintaining their corporate brand look.

A make up artist was provided for these shoots ensuring everyone looked and felt their best. Yes, even men!

If you would like to create a dynamic and engaging ad campaign for your company, editorial photos are a great way to start. We would love to help you create the perfect portraits for your industry!

Family Business Institute needed updated photos of their board of directors. While some live in North Carolina others do not, making cohesive branding photos a little more tricky. They meet for a once a year in person, and this year was at the beautiful North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh. The original plan was outdoor photos using the beautiful grounds but an unusually rainy 2018 left us with plan B: a portable studio look.

They opted for a medium / dark gray background which is a great neutral look for corporate headshots. We met before the meetings began and provided light make up retouching and a quick (and painless!) photo session of each person without disrupting the schedule. When a date is already scheduled for meetings and team gatherings, adding on location headshots is an easy way to update your branding and providing each employee with a headshot without any added stress. Having a make up artist on site is highly recommended to make the day run smoothly and have everyone looking photo-ready.

On location headshots can be anything you like; using the surrounding location indoors or outdoors, backdrops ranging from white to black (or a unique pop of color!), or a digital composite background added after the session. We can set up in any available space and work within the confines of just about any schedule. Contact us if you would like to add headshots to your next corporate event!

I don’t often work while on vacation but when your client is your beautiful Mom, you make it happen! All About Smiles is an established St. Augustine, Florida dental practice updating their website and personal branding as their staff grows. Dr. Nathan Nemecek specializes in family dentistry, simple sedation and cosmetic dentistry as well as root canals and dental implants.

They opted for an outdoor photo session as their dental office is surrounded by lush tropical plants (not something we see too often in Raleigh, NC!). It was a hot Florida summer day so we worked fast to avoid the sweat and the result was a look very custom to their practice. Some practices choose to wear matching scrubs for headshot photos but I find a variety of looks in complimenting colors works as well.

Staff photos are more important than ever with the role that websites and social media play in marketing for a competitive market.

Headshots were the main priority on this day but we also shot a few photos of the building, some working shots from inside the practice and an updated team photo. And I mentioned my mom – I can’t end this post without sharing her beautiful photo as well!

Personal Branding Raleigh Small Business Owner HeadshotsReduce stress with today’s guest blogger Jenny Abhau, owner of White Dahlia Massage and Wellness. I am so excited for you to “meet” this amazing woman! Her bright, friendly and serene spa is one of my favorite spots in Raleigh. This girl runs the show from top to bottom (including hand written birthday cards for their members and baking cakes for her staff). I don’t know HOW she does it all but she does it all. We met on a beautiful NC day to update her headshots and personal branding images and now she is here to share ways you can reduce stress and handle the grind of life.

Jenny’s Top Five Ways to Reduce Stress

As the owner of Raleigh’s best massage spa, you’d think I’d be an expert on stress relief. The truth is, being a small business owner is a grind that never ends. Couple that with having a slew of kids (five, to be exact—and I gave birth to every last one of them!), and I’m pretty much a ticking time bomb.

Having said that, I’ve had ample opportunity to find out what does and doesn’t work to relieve stress. So maybe—just maybe— I am an expert.

Jenny Abhau Headshots Raleigh NC Personal Branding Small business1. Massage. Now I’m not just saying this because I own a massage studio. The benefits of massage are real. From relieving headaches, to unwinding tight muscles, to soothing souls, massage is just plain GOOD for you. There have been days in my life when I have felt that I could not take another minute; that life was just too hard. And then I got a massage. And I felt competent and capable again. I could do life, after all.

2. Light reading. To me, leisure reading is a luxury. It’s something you treat yourself to when you’ve tackled everything else on your list. But that’s all backwards. Taking twenty minutes a day to read something you really enjoy is the perfect mental escape. This is particularly helpful right before bed, when your brain is going at mach speed and won’t shut off. Two of my latest favorites are A Million Miles in a Thousand Years (Donald Miller) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows).

3. Getting outside. I recently took a trip to Yosemite National Park. You guys. I couldn’t believe that kind of majesty and beauty existed in real life. In the few days I was there (with very limited cell phone coverage) I remembered how small I was in the grand scheme of things. My family? They’d survive without me for a few days. My business? They’d figure things out without me. The world wasn’t going to end if I went off the grid for a while. And I’ll tell you what: in that setting of splendor, my mind was free of its usual worries. And I slept like a baby.

4. Hypnosis/Mindfulness. I used to think this kind of stuff was hokey. Not anymore. After struggling with insomnia, I finally resorted to downloading a couple of hypnosis apps. Friends, these things really work. Focusing on the present, feeling your body, noticing your surroundings, all help to keep you grounded and content. Find out for yourself! Try Andrew Johnson’s “Positivity” and also “DeStress.”

5. Establishing non-negotiables. Before you can adequately take care of anyone else, you need to take care of yourself. Too often, we put ourselves last. Not only are we doing ourselves a disservice, we are also short-changing everyone who is important to us by not giving them our best selves. So what do you need to be your best self? A certain amount of exercise a week? Massage once a month? (I know a place….) Lunch with a friend every Wednesday? Decide what YOU need and make it a priority.

Take a couple of my ideas for a spin. See if they help you in your quest to reduce stress. See if they improve your quality of life. I’m betting they will.
